  almost three years ago i came to this site out of curiosity.

  i remember lurking a few days before coming out of my stupor from everything i read.

  it was like i was hungry and hadn't eaten in month.

  i am an ex-witness who faded from the religion about 4 years ago.

  interestingly, i am not new to this board because i have been lurking here for over 2 years and enjoying the great wealth of spiritual food here.

  i feel so connected with many of the posters here because of my passive involvement with this board.

  20,000 Die While "GOD" Watches as he sips Iced Tea

  today i had an interesting conversation, not with a christian believer but a muslim believer, .

  he was trying to recruit me into the faith--so i thought i would pose the question to him about why his god watches as 20,000 believers (muslims) women, children, etc lost thier lives-.

  his explanation i thought was straight out of a christian handbook on.

  Earthquakes are natural disasters just like hurricanes tornadoes floods and such. For one to assume that God, Allah Jehovah or anything else is to blame should hurry back to the mind control games of there freed past.

  How about this ; plates in the earth shift releases great amount of pressure. One in california one in Iran. One in the daytime one at night. One with houses able to take it one in a third world country with homes made of sand. One sparsly populated one with 80,000 people. end result more that 30000 people dead. The earth a living changing planet.

  this is phil j grew up in springfield, was a servant before my fall from grace about three years ago.

  looking for some old friends or new ones with a similar back ground.

  i'am 27, 6'1" blond hair blue eyes played basketball alot, hung out with aaron w, jon w from springfield.

  What do you belive happens to us after we die?

  i was raised a jehovah's witness and like most are aware, they presently belive that by and large everyone who dies ceases to exist.

  i accepted this fate for most of my life and i guess i still do for the most part, but now that i do not go to the meetings what am i to accept death to be, as i will die as well as my friends and family at some point.

  i think that idea of being in gods memory made sense to me as i have excepted it for forty five of my fifty years of being alive.
